What makes Fusion Mineral Paint so Great?

Fusion™ has taken over 25 years to develop, test and refine, and all the hard work has truly paid off.

Fusions results are nothing less than spectacular, providing furniture painters and decorative artists a best-in-class paint that features; an environmentally conscious formulation, virtually zero VOCs, superior durability, easy one-step self-levelling application and significantly improved adhesion and strength.

Delivering an exceptional matte finish, this 100% acrylic paint requires minimal prep and no top coat!

Is Fusion Mineral Paint the same as a chalk-like paint?

No, it’s not. Fusion is a 100% acrylic, water-based paint.

The “mineral” in Fusion Mineral Paint refers to the pigments used which are harvested from the earth.

Using natural rather than synthetic pigments allows for greater depth in colour and better durability to UV light and time. Once cured, a surface painted with Fusion™ is both water and stain proof.

Can I create a distressed effect with Fusion Mineral Paint?

Yes you can get a distressed or layered look!

Because of Fusions supreme adhesion, distressing can be tough once the paint is cured. If you would like to do some distressing, we recommend doing it soon after the paint dries.

Distressing the item does effect the top coat water resistance and stain blocking capabilities, so it is recommended to apply a finishing coat to distressed items.

What can I use Fusion Mineral Paint on?

The question is what can’t you use Fusion™ Mineral Paint on?

The options are endless, keep in mind the surface prep that may be necessary depending on the condition of your particular project.

How long does Fusion Mineral Paint take to dry?

Drying and curing are two different things.

Dry time usually refers to the touch or tackiness. Fusion Mineral Paint  should dry to the touch within an hour or two. High heat temperatures and high humidity play a factor making it sometimes slightly longer to dry.

Cure time is approximately 21 days, once again depending on the weather, similar to all water-based paints on the market. What does this mean? You can still use your piece gently, however the paint will be at it’s strongest to resist any marks the longer it has to cure.

Once the Fusion™ line has cured, the durability is unrivalled.

Our Fusion™ line is water resistant.

What is 100% acrylic paint?

Fusion Mineral Paint is made up of 100% Acrylic resin and nothing less! This results in one consistent and cohesive surface across your piece.

So what exactly does that mean? With Fusion you will have a perfectly sound surface that is not porous, meaning that you do not have to apply a top coat unless you want a special effect.

Other paints on the market such as latex, or anything less than 100% acrylic are using low quality and highly toxic vinyl and latex as they are inexpensive filers. Our products are made up of only the highest quality materials resulting in a virtually zero VOC highly quality paint.

Not only are they low VOC, they are also free from many other chemicals currently in other lines of paints such as ammonia and formaldehyde.

Fusion contains none of these.

What is the shelf life of Fusion Mineral Paint?

Our packaging is made out of the highest grade PET, which means that the paint inside will not dry out or go bad.

The screw top lids offer a highly secure closure, and do not allow for air pockets to enter. Some of our products come in squeeze bottles for easy application and the products inside the containers stay uncontaminated.

The shelf life is up to 7 years when the lid is closed properly, the paint will remain in perfect condition, will not separate or go crusty and hard.

This is due to a combination of very high quality ingredients, and excellent packaging perfect for keeping paints and finishes in excellent condition.

Our PET containers are hand made in North America, and contain 30% recycled material.

*Fun Fact – Did you know that all containers are hand filled and hand labelled? Fusion employ people not machines!
